Adult Retreats

Alpha is a retreat designed to foster and enrich relationships in all areas of life. Adult Alpharetreats are for adults 18 years and older. AlphaTeen retreats are for teens in 11th and 12th grades of high school. Retreats are held at designated retreat centers in the Orlando area in the fall and early spring of each year. Fall retreats are reserved for adults, while retreats for teens are held in the early spring. For more information on Teen retreats, click on the Teen Retreats link to the left.
The retreat staff is comprised of a priest and trained Alpha personnel. Retreats are open to those interested in emotional and spiritual growth who desire to deepen their relationships with themselves, with God, and with others.

What kind of retreat is Alpha?
Alpha is specifically designed to be an interactive, experiential retreat.
What happens on an Alpha retreat?
Small group sharing, individual reflection time, group activities, presentations, prayer, and liturgical celebrations are all part of the Alpha experience.
What is the length of the retreat?
The retreat begins on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and ends Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m.
What if I can't commit to the entire time frame? Can I miss part of the retreat?
No. Due to the nature of the retreat, you must be present for the entire weekend from opening activities on Friday evening to closing activities on Sunday.
How do I sign up?

at least two weeks prior to the retreat. Acceptance for the weekend is first come first served. Weekends are limited in size and fill up quickly so early registration is recommended. Registration deadline is 2 weeks prior to each retreat date. If you are having trouble with the online registration, please print out and complete the application form below and send it to the above address.
What happens after I send in my application?
A confirmation letter with a map to the retreat site and additional information will be mailed to you.
What do I need to bring?
Casual clothes (jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, etc.) and soap/personal toiletries. Bed linens or a sleeping bag, pillows, towels, and washcloths are also necessary. Beds and mattresses will be provided. A full list of needed and recommended items is provided with registration confirmation.
What if I need to cancel?
The fee for the registration is refundable with notice of cancellation two weeks in advance, minus a $5.00 processing fee. Cancellation during the immediate two weeks prior to the retreat will result in credit of fee to another retreat weekend on a space available basis. In the event that the cancellation spot can be filled by another retreatant, monies will be refunded minus the $5.00 fee. Should Alpha cancel the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, all monies will be fully refundable.
What does the retreat cost cover?
The retreat cost covers lodging, supplies, and meals (B/L/D on Sat. and B/L on Sun.). Limited financial assistance is available for those applying with financial hardships.
Can the same application be used for the adult retreat and the teen retreat?
No, there are two different application forms. However, both adults and teens can register online using the links to the left. Adult registration forms can be downloaded using the files below. Teen registration forms can be found on the Teen Retreats webpage.
Who are the priests who work with the Alpha program?
At the present time, the priests working directly with the Alpha program are Fr. Leo Hodges, Fr. Kent Walker and Fr. Ralph Duwell. Many other priests in the Orlando Diocese also support and assist the Alpha program.
